— Three Programmes
The right service for the right watch.
Whether a battery visit or a full movement overhaul, each programme is scoped clearly and priced in advance.
← Back to Home— Our Approach
A method built around the owner.
Each of the three Pendulax programmes follows the same underlying principle: work is explained before it begins, documented while it is in progress, and summarised in writing when it is complete. The owner is informed of anything relevant to their watch and is given the opportunity to make decisions rather than simply receive a bill.
For short bench visits — battery replacement or bracelet sizing — this means a clear price, a check of any adjacent parts the technician notices, and a note about condition. For overhauls, it means a fuller record: movement condition at intake, ultrasonic cleaning, any parts identified and costed before ordering, regulation result, and a written summary at collection.
Turnaround varies by programme. Battery and seal services are generally same-day or next-day. Bracelet work depends on the extent of adjustment. Overhauls are scheduled over a longer window and a realistic timeline is agreed at drop-off.

01 — Battery & Seal
Battery and Seal Service
A short bench visit designed for quartz watches and daily-wear collector pieces. The technician replaces the battery, reviews the gasket condition, runs a basic pressure resistance check, and notes the state of the case-back threads and crown. A brief written summary is provided at collection; photographs of the gasket can be sent on request.
This programme suits any owner whose quartz watch has stopped or is running slowly, and is also appropriate as a routine check-in every two to three years for watches that experience regular moisture exposure.
What the service includes:
- Battery replacement (correct specification for movement)
- Gasket inspection and condition note
- Basic water resistance check
- Case-back thread and crown condition assessment
- Written summary at collection
- Photographs of gasket on request
Process steps:
- 1. Watch received and logged at the bench
- 2. Case opened, battery type confirmed
- 3. Gasket removed, inspected, reseated or replaced if worn
- 4. New battery fitted, function confirmed
- 5. Basic resistance check performed
- 6. Summary written, watch ready for collection
Typical turnaround
Same day or next working day
02 — Bracelet Work
Bracelet Re-Sizing and Refinishing
In-shop adjustment and light surface refinishing for metal bracelets. The service covers link removal or addition, end-link alignment, and brushing or polishing to refresh a tired finish. The bench reads the original surface direction before any refinishing begins — brushed areas are treated as brushed, polished zones as polished.
A short before-and-after note accompanies the watch at collection. This service is well suited to owners who have received a watch on a bracelet at the wrong size, or to longer-term wearers whose metal bracelet has accumulated surface marks over years of use.
What the service includes:
- Link removal or addition to fit wrist
- End-link alignment and clasp check
- Light brushing or polishing following original surface
- Before-and-after condition note
Process steps:
- 1. Bracelet assessed — surface direction noted, links counted
- 2. Links removed or added to owner's wrist size
- 3. End links aligned, clasp operation checked
- 4. Refinishing carried out where requested, following original finish
- 5. Before-and-after note prepared, watch ready for collection
Typical turnaround
1–3 working days depending on extent
03 — Full Overhaul
Long-Bench Mechanical Overhaul
A thorough overhaul for mechanical watches that need more than surface attention. The programme covers complete disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning of all movement parts, gasket replacement, careful reassembly, lubrication, and regulation. Every stage is photographed and logged.
Where worn or damaged parts are identified during disassembly, they are photographed and a replacement cost is shared with the owner before sourcing. Work can pause at that point — no parts are ordered without explicit agreement. Sources are established watch component distributors operating in Malaysia and internationally.
What the service includes:
- Full movement disassembly
- Ultrasonic cleaning of all components
- Gasket replacement (all seals)
- Lubrication to specification
- Regulation and timing result recorded
- Step-by-step photographic record
- Parts pricing shared before sourcing
- Written summary at collection
Process steps:
- 1. Movement photographed at intake
- 2. Full disassembly, parts sorted and inspected
- 3. Worn parts flagged; cost shared with owner before ordering
- 4. Ultrasonic cleaning of all components
- 5. Reassembly, lubrication, gasket replacement
- 6. Regulation, timing result recorded
- 7. Written summary prepared, watch ready for collection
Typical turnaround
Agreed at drop-off, typically 2–4 weeks

— Standards
Common to all three programmes.
Owner privacy
Contact details and job records are held securely. Watch photographs are only forwarded to the owner — never shared.
Transparent costing
Every service has a fixed starting price in Malaysian Ringgit. Parts costs are additional and itemised in advance.
In-house, in Malaysia
All work is carried out at the Pendulax bench in Petaling Jaya. Nothing is sent offshore for standard services.
Communication before action
Anything unexpected found during a job is communicated before any response is taken. The owner decides what happens next.
Documentation standard
A written summary accompanies every completed job. For overhauls, the record is comprehensive enough to be useful at subsequent service or resale.
Established parts sourcing
When parts are needed, they come from known distributors. The source is named in the job record and pricing is shared before ordering.
