— About Pendulax
A bench built on patience and precision.
Small in scale, deliberate in pace. Every watch that comes through the door is treated as something worth getting right.

How Pendulax came to be.
Pendulax started from a simple frustration: watches being returned from larger workshops with work that was harder to track than the original problem. The founder — a collector and amateur repairer with years at the bench — decided that the better approach was a smaller one.
Based on Jalan Gasing in Petaling Jaya, the workshop takes on a manageable number of pieces at a time. The size is deliberate. It allows the team to spend more time on each watch, to communicate openly with the owner, and to do work they are comfortable putting their name on.
The name Pendulax is a nod to the pendulum — that quiet regulating motion at the heart of a mechanical watch. It suggests what we value: steady, measured work rather than rushed throughput.
The three services on offer — battery and seal visits, bracelet refinishing, and full mechanical overhauls — cover the most common reasons a watch needs attention. Each has a fixed starting price, and any surprises are discussed before the work continues.
— Mission
"To return a watch in better condition than it arrived — and to make sure the owner understands every step taken along the way."
This means written summaries, photographs on request, and a straightforward conversation if anything unexpected comes up during the work.

Summary for every job
— The Team
The people at the bench.
Reza Hamdan
Founder & Lead Watchmaker
Reza has been working on mechanical movements since his early twenties, starting with pocket watches before moving to wristwatches. He handles all overhauls and sets the tone for how the bench operates.
Nurul Syahira
Bench Technician
Nurul manages battery and seal services, bracelet work, and client correspondence. Her attention to documentation keeps the job records consistent and clear for every owner.
Faris Azlan
Parts & Sourcing
Faris handles the supply side — sourcing genuine and compatible components from trusted distributors in Malaysia and abroad, keeping the pricing transparent for owners waiting on parts decisions.
— Our Standards
How the bench is run.
Written Job Records
Every piece leaves with a written summary describing what was found, what was done, and what to watch for. Stored records mean follow-up visits are always in context.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Movement parts are cleaned ultrasonically before reassembly. This removes old lubricants and debris without the risk that manual cleaning introduces to delicate surfaces.
Owner Consent at Every Stage
For overhauls, parts requirements are shared before sourcing. No item is ordered or fitted without the owner's explicit agreement. Work can pause at any point.
Established Parts Suppliers
Components are sourced from known distributors in Malaysia and abroad. The provenance is shared with the owner and documented in the job record.
Photographic Documentation
Key stages of overhauls and seal services can be photographed and forwarded to the owner. Useful for insurance, resale, or simply peace of mind about the work done.
Client Data Privacy
Contact information and job records are held securely and not shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
— Expertise
Watchmaking in Petaling Jaya — what that actually means.
Watch repair in Petaling Jaya covers a wide range of work, from the straightforward to the highly involved. A quartz watch brought in for a battery change typically needs twenty minutes and a careful eye on the gasket. A mechanical watch arriving for a full overhaul is a different matter — it may spend several days on the bench, and a detailed record of the movement's condition before and after cleaning is part of the standard output.
Pendulax works on both. The three services on offer — battery and seal, bracelet re-sizing and refinishing, and long-bench mechanical overhaul — reflect the repair requests most commonly received. Each has a clear starting price in Malaysian Ringgit, and any additional costs are discussed before proceeding.
The workshop is intentionally small. This keeps lead times manageable and allows the team to give each owner a coherent picture of what was found when their watch came to the bench. For Selangor-based collectors and everyday watch wearers alike, that kind of transparency can be hard to find at larger repair centres or retail counters.
Bracelet work at Pendulax follows the original surface direction. Brushed finishes stay brushed; polished surfaces are refreshed rather than reground. For owners who have acquired a watch with a bracelet that needs re-sizing, or for those whose bracelet has accumulated surface scratches over years of wear, this approach keeps the piece looking like itself rather than like something newly manufactured.
